The first Oncology Nursing Conference entitled “Modern Practices and Holistic Management” was successfully held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the European University of Cyprus, marking a new chapter in the continuing education of healthcare professionals in Cyprus.

Organized by HealthCare Training Ltd in collaboration with the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center and the European University of Cyprus, the conference brought together nurses and healthcare professionals, who shared knowledge, experiences and practices to improve oncology care.

A day dedicated to knowledge and care

The event began with greetings from important representatives of the healthcare sector, including Dr. Marios Georgiou, Director of HealthCare Training Ltd, Mr. Panos Ergatoudis, General Manager of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Pancyprian Medical Association and the PA.SY.N.M.

A rich scientific program followed with presentations covering critical aspects of oncology care:

• Management of chronic pain and cachexia in oncology patients
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and ethical approaches in emergency situations και ηθικές προσεγγίσεις σε επείγουσες καταστάσεις
• Nursing support in patients undergoing autologous bone marrow transplantation σε ασθενείς υπο αυτόλογη μεταμόσχευση μυελού των οστών
• Safety and radiation protection in the healthcare sector στον χώρο της υγείας
• Self-care and prevention of burnout

Each presentation combined scientific evidence with practical experience, highlighting the importance of holistic care – both for the patient and for the healthcare professional himself.

The workshop wasn't just a space for learning, but also networking among professionals who share the same passion for quality care. Through the presentations and the discussion that followed, both the challenges and the opportunities for growth in the field of oncology nursing were highlighted.
